Founder
Andrew Gibson founded AKG Security Services with a clear mission: to help domestic and international organizations operate safely and effectively in the world's most challenging environments.
With over 25 years of experience in security management, Andrew has worked across 40+ countries spanning Africa, MENA, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. He's built his career supporting organizations like USAID, the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and international development agencies as they deliver critical programs in democracy, governance, education, and community development.
Andrew's approach goes beyond traditional security consulting. He focuses on building internal security capacity within organizations, developing practical frameworks that protect people and operations while enabling teams to fulfill their missions. Whether it's crisis management during critical incidents or implementing MOSS-compliant policies across global networks, his solutions are designed to be sustainable and scalable.
Based in Northern Virginia, Andrew has navigated everything from low-risk to extremely high-risk environments, always with the same goal: empowering organizations to make a meaningful impact, no matter where their work takes them.
CHIEF WELFARE OFFICER
HARLEY GIBSON
Harley Gibson joined AKG Security Services with one critical mission: ensuring optimal morale and workplace wellness across all operations.
As Chief Welfare Officer, Harley specializes in stress reduction through strategic nap scheduling, spontaneous play breaks, and his signature "paws-on" approach to team support. His expertise includes perimeter security (squirrel monitoring), visitor assessment (tail-wag threat analysis), and maintaining a welcoming office environment.
With years of experience in unconditional support and loyalty, Harley has mastered the art of being present during tough phone calls, providing comfort during stressful project deadlines, and reminding the team that sometimes the best security strategy is taking a walk outside.
When he's not conducting his daily office patrols or attending important meetings (usually involving treats), Harley can be found ensuring no tennis ball goes unthrown and no lap goes unfilled.
